In the still of the night……..

It wasn’t so still……Henny Penny is in the habit of waking up still.  Usually, we can give him a bottle and he’ll fall back to sleep (I know, bad bad bad!).  Last night?  Not so much…..he took three sips and was pissed.  So I burped him and snuggled him……the little stinker just wanted his mama to hold him. (I really do cherish these moments but I need some sleep.) He started babbling away and blowing raspberries…..so I put him back in his bed, only for him to scream his head off again.  I let him fuss himself back to sleep.  Jess ended up getting up with him around 5 or so too.
He kept waking up when he was falling asleep.......but he was so darn cute!

According to babycenter, babies sometimes don’t sleep through the night until 9/12 months…….and midnight to 5am is considered sleeping through the night.  He’s only little once, I’ll try to remind myself that, as he’s screaming his head off.

In other news……Maddox hates my singing.  He usually tells me to stop singing and will cry if I don’t.  (he’s kind of dramatic) Last night…….I was singing to him and he was covering my mouth, then he put his hat on my head, covering my eyes…….AND BIT MY NOSE!  Apparently my singing is that bad!!!!!!  He felt really bad afterwards, apologizing multiple times….but it was a good lesson….we don’t bite anyone ( or sing to your child who hates it.)

I’m going to make it a point to keep my notebook near me to write down the funny things the boys say, it happens so often and then when I want to tell Jess or write it down…….I have forgotten. Hopefully I can add a little bit of kiddie convo to my blog soon!

All three boys sat on Santa’s lap for the first time (I know, I know…Maddox is 4).  They did really well, and filled him in on their wishes.  I can’t wait to see their faces on Christmas morning!!!!

Until next time......

NED!

One of my favorite times of the year is when Ned comes to visit.  Who is Ned, you ask?  He is our little elf, that reports back to Santa.  Naughty Ned.  As soon as I pulled him out of the Christmas box on Saturday, Maddox told me that Ned’s the one that strung toilet paper all over.  Mostly, I like to have him be naughty because it’s so fun to see their faces when they see the havoc he’s created.  He fits in really well with my boys J

So far he hasn’t done much, he was tired one of the nights and just rested on the mantle (bad mama forgot) and the other nights he played with their toys.

All three boys got to see Santa and get their picture taken with him.  The wait was horribly long but I couldn’t change my mind about it because the boys were soooo excited.  It was pretty magical and totally worth it.  The boys were in awe, except Henny, he cried. They just need to get more elves to help with their photo taking/printing.

Another favorite thing of mine during the holiday is our work party.  We do white elephant gifts and eat delicious food.  Last time I made a “Shave your legs Barbie”…..it was pretty awesome, I cut some hair off the tip of my mom’s dog’s tail and glued it to her legs.  That’s also where this gem came from, I may or may not have picked it out of the garbage in the judge’s office…..
He was so scared of it!!!

Jax informed me last night that he has a shop.  He makes pizzas in his shop that have white cheese, yellow cheese, sauce, crust and blue olives.  He assures me they taste good.  The boys love making “homemade” pizza with store bought crust.  I like it too because then I don’t have to make dinner J

Henny has learned to pick things up and eat them too!

And in closing, I offer you this beauty queen!

One tooth, two teeth, no sleep for us!!

Some day we will get some sleep.  I think we've had one maybe two full nights of sleep since the whole wipe incident.  BUT Mr. Henny has two teeth!!!  For the most part, he is happy during the day but at night, he just can't sleep.

I know some day, I will look back on our nights together and cherish them, so I try to remind myself of that when I get no sleep!

There really hasn't been anything else exciting going on, just the normal craziness!  I actually started my Christmas shopping, that's a miracle in itself!!!  Maddox has informed me many times that he wants a castle with three guys and Jaxton wants a skateboard.  I think skateboards should come with a free pass to the ER, we all know that Jax is the winner of the "most er visits award!"  It would absolutely break his heart if he didn't get one though.  We will see what Santa comes up with.

There are days when these two get along great and then there are days when all I hear is crying from their bedroom.  This is Mekika the cat, in his kennel.......and his owner Maddox the boy.  I love how their imaginations run wild.

Henny and Maddox have such a special bond, Maddox is always checking on our "Baby Guy."  Sometimes I sneak up on them and just watch how sweet of a big brother he is.
Millie, of course, has to get in there and make sure her baby is ok too!

There are days when I can't believe how old they are, they have taught me so much about myself.  Especially how to love unconditionally.  They try my patience most days but at the end of the day, they are still my babies and I love them for who they've become.

Oh and check out this oldie!!!  Ha, I look so young and possibly hungover :)
Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone, we will be enjoying some Turducken, among all the other goodies! I promise I will try to get a post up a little sooner this time!

Sickery Dickery Dock, the Mama's wiping some snot!
The clock struck one, she gave them their antibiotics and sent them to bed!

We have had sickness in our house for over a month!!  Jaxton seems to have been passed over but Maddox and Henny both had to be brought in to get antibiotics.  Henny has taken to sleeping in the swing really well.....in fact he doesn't want to sleep in his bed anymore :(

Another thing we missed out on was our annual pumpkin guts fight!  This was from last year and it's so fun, but my sister and brother did give me pumpkins to get the seeds out :)

Really, there hasn't been anything going on because we were all sick.  I finally caught the cold and totally understand why they were miserable!

Millie, the fearless protector, got spayed and seems to be doing ok. She's still crazy and loves her baby.

Henny has a new favorite snack

In the middle of all the sickness, Jess and I "celebrated" our 2nd anniversary.  We did absolutely nothing.  I worked and sat at home with the boys while he worked late.  I made myself rice a roni....and he had cold pizza.  He did send me a beautiful boquet, and I sent him a tree.  (thats a whole other blog post!) Some day we will make up for all the uncelebrated things.

Babies, boogers and snot, OH MY!

Wanna know what I did this weekend? Everyone in our house is sick, except the basement dweller. I don't blame her for hiding out!  Two boys had designated booger wipers (spit rags double nicely as these). I ran to target and purchased this:

I know what you're thinking! I thought the exact same thing.  But when your baby can't breathe and absolutely fights the bulb sucker, you will do what it takes. Henny still hates it but its a lot quicker to use this and its big enough that i don't run the risk of jamming it in his nose when he squirms.  All in all? A+

Hubs took Saturday off, and we spent most of it at home.  What a bust of a weekend. I don't have much to share, just some cute pictures of the kids to start out the week :)

Look how young we are here!!! Holy moly!

Just laying on his dragon Millie!
They seriously can't get enough of each other!!! (when i figure out how to post videos, you will melt from all the cuteness!)

I feel like Jax got ripped off in the photo department this weekend, but he spent his Sunday on an adventure with Dad. Saturday he got to go to Menards too.  I still love him just as much as the others, even if he is a "butthanger" sometimes :)

Guardian Angels

I don't even know how to start this post, I've typed and deleted and retyped. So I'm just going to let it spill.

This past week was a rough one, I'm glad things turned out the way the did because I can't even fathom it going the other way.  Plain and simple-Henny could have died.  I hate thinking that way but it's all I can think about.  I have tears in my eyes just typing the words.

REWIND

Wednesday, I got a text from Linda (our wonderful daycare lady who we would be lost without) telling me I had to pick Henny up because he had a fever.  I have never seen him look more pitiful!

I picked all the boys up and brought them home.  Henny wouldn't eat much and would cry he wasn't being held. It was a long night, up every hour and multiple doses of tylenol and ibu. Thursday wasn't much better and by the evening, I packed him up and took him to Urgent care. (thank you to our awesome neighbor for hanging with the big boys)

Ear infection, of course!  That was my suspicion because he was pulling at his ear.  Home we went and daddy picked up our rx on his way home.  Another sleepless night for mama and Henny.  At around 5am I heard him grunting and tooting in his swing but he wasn't crying and I wasn't getting up.

He was a lot happier when we got up at 7, than the night before.  We did normal morning things....change diaper, find a poopy wipe in his diaper...WAIT WHAT?!?  No wonder he was sick!!!  He had somehow managed to eat a wipe.  It was still whole and partially encased in poop.(i took a picture but i won't subject you to it)  I know for a fact that I didn't accidentally leave it in there the night before during a changing because I didn't use at wipe!  He had barely peed in his diaper and I had told him that he needed to go potty more or mama would take him to the dr again.
Much Better!

How does a 5 month old eat a wipe?!?!?!?  I have no idea and it makes me feel like a horrible mom!  How scary that must have been for him when it was actually going down. It breaks my heart to think he was all by himself choking on a wipe and finally got it down.  And then the belly ache he must have had! I truly believe that he had at least two guardian angels watching over him. There is no way that he should have been able to eat that without choking and then to be able to pass it!  The antibiotics may have helped him poop it out but going down, someone up above was definitely with him!

We still have been having sleepless nights, but that's due to teething and a stuffy nose.  Poor kid, just can't catch a break!!!  I traumatized both of us last night, I used nasal saline spray in his nose so he could breathe....he squirmed, the nozzle went in a little too far, yep, talk about feeling like the worst mom! After using the trusty booger sucker, he was all clear.  Ate a bottle and went back to sleep......for a few hours.

The time off gave me some time to spend with the other two as well.  Maddox is working on writing his name and drawing smileys :)
its a picture of daddy

We went to Gram's and built some legos outside.
And Henny bounced in the sunshine
New shoes?

Mama, make your tongue into a circle like me!

Hopefully they are all on the mend and no one else gets their cold!  Mama and Daddy do not need it!

Oh, and here is a cute picture of Millie :)

Roller Coaster Road

One weekend, Mama and Daddy took the fam on an adventure.  They drove out to Brule to go on some nature trail.  It was a lot of walking for those little legs (i'm talking about the boys, my legs aren't little).  Daddy and Amber liked to speed walk, for some reason, and Mama always got left behind with the slow poke.

That was a good time for selfies!

About halfway through, the boys were getting bored and tired.  Mama had to think of something quick! She re-named the path to Roller Coaster Road.  The boys took hold of Mama's hands and down they went, running down the hills, rounding the corners and laughing all the way.  What a fun time, and even better because the imaginations were running wild! (i looked silly)

The happiest of all, was the littlest one!  Henny was so content, taking in all the sights, sounds and smells!

All in all?  It was a successful adventure!

If you're ever out that way, stop by and have a bite to eat at Twin Gables, it was fantastic and the owner/our waitress was AWESOME!  Only two cups of spilled milk, no big deal!  Mama was proud of her boys, once again.  The owner told her how well mannered the boys are.  Every time she brought something to our table, the boys said "thank you" without being prompted.  (makes mama feel good because she tries, even though sometimes they're crazy)

A certain someone was pretty happy to see Mama when she got home too!
